Running Update and the TIU Bikini Series Program

WOW! I have not updated since January. A lot has happened in the last few months. Still trying to stay on track with my eating choices, but the exercise and running have been almost non-existent. The last month I definitely have tried to make changes and as of tomorrow, I will start week 3 of my half marathon training through the Nike Run Club app. Also, tomorrow marks Week 1 of the Tone It Up Bikini Series. I definitely want to be accountable and start blogging through this process. I hope that you will join me on my journey!

Before I begin the Bikini Series, there are some questions that are asked of each member. I’m going to blog mine here so that way I can look back, re-read if I need to and to remind myself to stay on track.

 

 

Question 1:
Close your eyes and imagine yourself in 8 weeks. How do you want to feel physically? What about emotionally? Who is looking back at you in the mirror? Is she confident? Radiant? What has she learned about herself?

In 8 weeks, I definitely want to feel stronger and more lean. Emotionally, I would love to feel strong enough to know that even after the BS is over, I will stay true to myself and to a healthy lifestyle. The girl looking back at me in the mirror will definitely be happy, although I’m sure she will still find fault within herself. We are always hard on ourselves and finding faults where we shouldn’t and I hope that those negative thoughts will go away. I hope that she is confident, strong, definitely radiant and just happy. I hope that she will have learned that she is strong and capable of doing amazing things, being an amazing friend whether it be in real life or on Instagram and that she will continue to be the best version of herself that she can be.

Question 2:
What is one habitual goal you want to achieve? Maybe it’s to start meal prepping, waking up earlier to work out, or to start journaling. A habit takes 21 days to form, so by the end of the challenge it’ll be second nature. Now is the perfect time to create those new healthy habits for summer!

Definitely the journaling, or blogging. I also definitely want to start waking up earlier to work out. I feel like I’m doing great on the evening work outs and runs, but I definitely need to move more in the morning. Get my day started on the right track.

Question 3:
Spiritual broken down is Spirit Ritual. It simply means the rituals you include each day for your spirit. So what will you do each day or week that make you feel happy and centered? It can be guided meditations, practicing yoga once a week, painting, or journaling your intentions for the following day each evening.

Definitely here journaling/blogging. I promise to keep you updated on all things Bikini Series as well as my half marathon training.

Question 4:
What is one physical change you want to see? Do you want stronger arms? Do you want to build muscle overall? Or it can be something as simple as feeling confident rockin’ your swimsuit at the beach. Write it down. Visualize it and make every decision every day with that goal in mind. We promise you’ll get there! You’re capable of more than you’ll ever know, and we’re by your side every step of the way.

The main areas I want to work to make stronger are my underarm flab, the tightness in my thighs and my lower belly. In addition, I’d love a tighter booty!

Question 5:
What are your usual setbacks? What usually prevents you from working out or eating healthy? Most of us are completely aware of our personal obstacles. How will you prevent them and work on them? Maybe you make everything else a priority before yourself or easily get distracted or discouraged. Or maybe your environment or the people around you are holding you back. Can you ask for their support? Whether it’s work, friends or family, take the time to realize that you are the only one in control of your body and your future. Stand up for yourself and stick to your goals. You deserve it.

My major setbacks are giving up a few weeks in with the exercise and although I may cheat one day, the cheat days keep coming. I definitely want to stay stronger this Bikini Series and I have some great ladies from AZ and the whole TIU community building me up! I hope that through this series I will meet some more amazing ladies and build lifelong friendships.

Question 6:
If you could thank your future self right now for sticking to the Bikini Series, what would you say to her?

To my future self, thank you for sticking with this plan. It may not have been easy, some days were super hard, but you did it. Be proud of all you’ve accomplished and make this the beginning of a new lifestyle change.

Question 7:
Now imagine yourself in 8 weeks. You feel exactly how you visualized above. What do you want to say to the girl reading this plan, preparing for the Bikini Series? What words of encouragement do you have for her? What do you want her to push through and what do you want her to let go of? Let it out.

This sort of goes with Question 6. Definitely stick with it. You’ve given up so many times in the past. This is your first year actually being a member with full access to so many amazing recipes, videos, etc. Just keep going and you will accomplish so many goals you’ve set for yourself.

Okay. That’s the last question. Now, all I need to do is focus, be ready, be committed and life will fall into place.
